Parent involvement and volunteerism is welcomed at Judah!

No job is too small, and no amount of service minutes too few. We welcome you to be a part of our school family in a manner that fits your schedule and levels of comfort.

The information below provides you with ideas for some of the ways you can get involved in your child’s education.

School Site Council

The School Site Council (SSC) is a school community’s representative body, made up of school staff, parents/community members, and at the secondary level, students. The primary responsibility of the SSC is to participate in the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and to evaluate the effectiveness of programs by monitoring the use of supplemental funding available to the school site.

For more information about SSC, or to inquire about how to participate, please call our school office at 916-277-6364, or go to our district website. You may also call our Family and Community Engagement office at 916-643-9232.

Volunteer in Your Child’s Classroom

Parent engagement is not mandatory.  However, we have significant levels of volunteering and engagement due to the fact that our school values our parent partnerships as an essential part of student success.  Students learn more when their families are engaged.

Before you volunteer, you will need to make sure you complete and turn in your SCUSD Volunteer Packet to the office. You can download the Packet here.  If you want to be a Garden Docent, or serve as a parent chaperone or driver on one of our over night field trips, you must  have level III clearance.  Clearance must be obtained by the deadline for the trip set by the school.

If you wish to be a driver on a field trip, there is additional required documentation that will be provided to you by your child’s teacher/school office that must be completed and in good standing by the deadline set in order to participate.

Volunteer paperwork will also be provided in every students’ first day packet.

Need to be fingerprinted? There are funds for that, Download Forms here.

SCUSD no longer provides TB testing for potential volunteers.

Thank you for your commitment to our school community and to your child!
