On-site Programs

ASES Expanded Learning

ASES (After School Education & Safety) Expanded Learning provides after-school care for students in grades TK-6th grade. If you are interested in enrollment for the current school year, please email Program Director Trashay Bradford (trashay.bradford@sccsc.org) or call (916) 647-2235. Students must register and be accepted to participate in the program.  Spaces are limited for each grade level.

Off-site Programs

YMCA and Dragon Fire Martial Arts

Many of our families independently contract with the the YMCA (916-452-9622) and Dragon Fire Martial Arts (916-457-4636) for after school care. Both programs have a van that picks up students from Theodore Judah after school. (Theodore Judah and Sacramento City Unified School District do not contract with either organization for services.)

TJ Times: Your Student Run Newspaper

Are you interested in being a writer, photographer or editor? The TJ Times meets weekly on campus and writes hard-hitting stories, such as Big Spoon vs Heavenly’s Yogurt! 

Drama Program

Theodore Judah’s Community Theater hosts Sacramento Theater Company’s (STC) Team to provide a student productions. To learn more about the Drama program, contact the PTA.

Robotics

The “Bear Bots” meet weekly after school and compete in the First LEGO League Challenge annually. They represented us well in last year,  placing 2nd in the competition. This year they were awarded a grant from the Bill Gates Foundation. 

Green Team

Green Team was started to give students at our school a leadership role in the green makeover. As Green Team members students can share their ideas for improving our school. 

Nature Bowl

This after school club, sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game, is an environmental education competition. Teams of 3rd through 6th grade students study science, ecology, and environmental issues for an all-day semi-finals event.

Parent-Paid Enrichment Opportunities 

The Theodore Judah PTA coordinates a number of after school classes- including STEM, Art, Knitting, Drama, Writing, Math, Running programs and much more.

5th and 6th Grade Debate Team

Theodore Judah’s Debate team is made up of 5th and 56th grade and facilitated by one of our school’s amazing educators. This team has been raising a new generation of young adults, who do their own research, think independently, structure their thoughts, ideas, and principles in order to communicate effectively and advocate passionately. They will have the opportunity to compete with other schools throughout the year.
